Yucca is an incredible plant that humans have used for thousands of years to solve everyday problems and create useful tools. This common, often overlooked native plant can be used to make everything from baskets and natural rope to soap, shoes, sleeping mats, medicine, sewing kits, fishing line, and much more.

Come spend a day at Earth Native working with several species of yucca as you create your own beautiful and functional coiled basket and explore the many other uses of this amazing plant. You’ll also learn how to make rope from yucca fibers and eco-friendly, truly biodegradable soap from yucca roots.

This class is appropriate for both experienced and first-time basket weavers. Whether you’re interested in adding basket weaving to your survival skills toolkit, looking for a new creative outlet, or simply curious to learn more about native plants and their many uses, this class offers a fun, hands-on day of learning and creating.
