Twined Basketry

Have you ever wanted to weave a basket and weren't sure how to start? Then join us for this wonderful workshop that will teach you all you need to know about the basics of basket making.

 

Using a style known as warp and weft, or spokes and weavers, participants will construct a twined baskets using modern day hemp cord. In addition students will also learn how to wrap simply cordage from local plant resources should they decide to make their own materials for basket making. Each student will leave with one small basket that they wove themselves using this most basic method of basket making.

This is an adult class but open to ages 10+. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult participant with a 1:1 ratio. An enrollment form and payment must be received for each person attending class, regardless of age.
