Earth Paints & Pigments
Come explore art and nature with Earth Native School. This class will explore the wonderful bounty of paints and pigments that can be made from natural materials that we find on the landscape.

Ancient and modern cultures have utilized natural paints and dyes for thousands of years! Natural paints and pigments can be extracted from rocks, clays, plants, and minerals and we have a ton of awesome colors and resources to pick from in Central Texas.

In this class we’ll spend time exploring the beautiful edges of Cedar Creek gathering clay and rocks to make our natural pigments, we’ll then crush them into fine powders, and add binders to make our own paints for use in organic artistry.
We will also be showing you how to make your own paintbrushes from local plants!

No natural talent of artistry is needed, come join us!
