Hunting is an ancient skill that binds us together as humans through thousands of years of common ancestral heritage. Tapping into the ancient skills of stalking, pursuit, connection, and quietness of mind, stirs something inside of us that is quite profound.

 

Hunting is challenging and requires dedication and mentoring that has traditionally been passed on through family members. Unfortunately, if you didn’t grow up in a hunting family or don’t have a close relative to teach you, it can be intimidating to try to figure all this out on your own. But don’t fret, we’re here to help!

 

While you won’t leave this class a master hunter by any means, as that pursuit takes years of practice, we will teach you everything you need to know to get started and set you up for success.

 

Topics covered in this class include but are not limited to:

• How to find game

• How to recover wounded game

• How to find public and private lands to hunt on

• How to enter draw hunts

• Hunting strategies for tree stands and blinds, and where to place them

• What to do with the animal after you harvest it

Note: Game processing is not covered in this class – (we offer a separate Butchering and Animal Processing class)

Time: Class will run from 9:00am-5:00pm on Saturday and 8:00am-4:00pm on Sunday

Location: Giddings, TX (Not at the Earth Native Campus)

PLEASE NOTE: This is a 2 day course. Camping overnight on Saturday is encouraged, but not required. Hunting stories by the campfire on Saturday evening are included at no additional charge. :) Dinner Saturday evening and breakfast on Sunday morning are included. Participants must bring their own lunches for both days.

Ages: This is an adult class open to ages 17+. Class limited to 12 participants.
